Puriya Tea Tree Clarifying Shampoo. Plant Rich Dry Itchy Scalp Relief, for Kids, Adults, Sulfate Free, No Harsh Chemicals Seen in Dandruff Treatment, Seborrheic Dermatitis, Psoriasis Shampoo, 16 oz

Finally a shampoo that works! I have purchased numerous expensive and inexpensive shampoos and nothing has worked. My scalp was red, irritated, flaky and I had several bumps all over my scalp. I have literally tried it all. This shampoo cleared my scalp after using it for 3 consecutive days. It is a miracle come true and I highly recommend it. The shampoo lathers nicely, no need to use a big amount. The shampoo has an “herbal” scent – I thought my hair would end up smelling like a hippie but my hair had a nice, gentle scent. The feel like this shampoo provides moist to my scalp and it is not harsh as the many other shampoos I have used. Since I have long and course hair, I use this shampoo and do not apply conditioner in the shower. Before combing my hair, I apply a nice leave in conditioner to the rest of the hair (not the roots) in order to comb it and moisturize it. I HIGHLY recommend this shampoo. Shampoo Basics & Tips
Understanding Scalp Irritation and How Shampoo Helps
In the review, the user mentions having a red, irritated, flaky scalp with bumps. This often refers to conditions like seborrheic dermatitis or dandruff, which involve inflammation, itching, and flaking due to factors like yeast overgrowth, dry skin, or product buildup. A shampoo that works quickly, as described, likely contains soothing ingredients such as tea tree oil, salicylic acid, or natural herbs that reduce inflammation and exfoliate dead skin cells. For instance, herbal scents might come from ingredients like chamomile or aloe vera, known for their calming properties. Scalp health is crucial because it affects hair growth and overall comfort; using a gentle, moisturizing shampoo can prevent further damage.
Benefits of Rich Lather and Herbal Scents in Shampoo
The review highlights that the shampoo lathers nicely without needing much product. Lather is created by surfactants that cleanse dirt and oil, and a rich lather often indicates effective yet mild formulas that don't strip natural oils. Herbal scents, as mentioned, are typically derived from plant extracts, which can offer aromatherapy benefits and avoid synthetic chemicals that might irritate sensitive skin. This aligns with trends toward natural personal care products, where users seek eco-friendly options. Additionally, the user notes the scent isn't overpowering, which is important for daily use and avoiding allergic reactions.
Moisturizing Properties and Hair Care Routine Tips
The shampoo provides moisture to the scalp, which is vital for preventing dryness and flakiness. Unlike harsh shampoos that contain sulfates, this product seems formulated with hydrating agents like glycerin or natural oils. The user also mentions having long, coarse hair and skipping conditioner, instead using a leave-in conditioner on the ends. This is a common strategy to avoid weighing down hair or causing greasiness at the roots, while still detangling and moisturizing the lengths. For overall hair health, it's recommended to choose shampoos based on hair type and scalp condition, and to avoid overwashing, which can lead to irritation.
Common Shampoo Questions and Everyday Knowledge
Many people wonder how often to shampoo—typically, 2-3 times a week suffices for most, but it depends on oil production and activity level. Signs of a good shampoo include pH balance (around 5.5 to avoid disrupting the scalp's acid mantle), absence of parabens or sulfates for sensitive skin, and ingredients targeting specific issues like dandruff. For those with similar scalp problems, consulting a dermatologist is wise, as persistent issues might require medicated shampoos. Regularly alternating shampoos can also prevent buildup and maintain efficacy. This knowledge helps users make informed choices for long-term scalp care.
