I'm amazed: this shampoo cut hair loss and frizz, hair is soft.
I chose this natural EWG shampoo for hair loss and frizz; it worked wonders, making my hair soft and smooth.
This is a review from Amazon.com about product:
ATTITUDE Volume and Shine Hair Shampoo, EWG Verified, For Thin Hair, Naturally Derived Ingredients, Vegan and Plant Based, Soy Protein And Cranberries, 32 Fl Oz

I bought this shampoo because it is EWG verified and I suspect some hair loss I've had is caused by my choices of shampoo so I wanted to use gentler, more natural products. I have only used it once and I'm impressed enough to write a rave review! Not only did far less hair come out in the process of shampooing and brushing it (after I conditioned it with the Attitude Moisture Rich Conditioner) but I had no frizziness either. I've had frizzy hair for years and every shampoo and conditioner I used seemed to make it worse. In my decades of shampoo use, this is the only one that has not made my hair frizzy. I still can't quite believe it! My hair is soft and smoothe and feels moisturized. I'm used to shampoos with lovely scents and this just had a sort of natural herbal smell (not bad at all but not what I'm used to) but it doesn't matter at all because the product results are amazing. Can't recommend it highly enough and wish I had found this product years ago.
Shampoo Basics & Tips
What is EWG Verification?
EWG stands for Environmental Working Group, a non-profit organization that provides verification for products based on safety and environmental standards. EWG verified products are rigorously tested to ensure they are free from harmful chemicals like sulfates, parabens, and synthetic fragrances. This certification helps consumers choose safer options that reduce exposure to toxins, promoting better health for both people and the planet. In the context of shampoo, EWG verification means the product uses natural, gentle ingredients that are less likely to cause irritation, hair loss, or other issues, making it ideal for those with sensitive scalps or concerns about chemical exposure.
Understanding Hair Loss from Shampoo
Hair loss can result from various factors, including genetics, stress, diet, and product choices. Harsh shampoos containing sulfates or alcohols can strip natural oils from the scalp, leading to dryness, breakage, and increased shedding. These ingredients disrupt the hair follicle's health, causing temporary or prolonged loss. Switching to gentler, natural shampoos, like EWG verified ones, can help maintain scalp moisture and reduce hair fall by using nourishing components such as plant-based cleansers and oils that strengthen hair from the roots.
What Causes Frizzy Hair?
Frizz occurs when hair absorbs excess moisture from the environment, causing the cuticle (the outer layer of hair) to swell and become rough. This is often due to damage from heat styling, chemical treatments, or using products that dehydrate the hair. Factors like humidity, lack of moisture, and improper care exacerbate frizz. Natural shampoos with moisturizing agents, such as shea butter or coconut oil, help smooth the cuticle, lock in hydration, and reduce frizz by providing a protective barrier. Consistent use can lead to softer, more manageable hair over time.
Benefits of Natural Shampoos
Natural shampoos offer numerous advantages over conventional ones. They typically avoid synthetic chemicals, relying instead on ingredients like herbal extracts, essential oils, and biodegradable components. This not only minimizes skin irritation and allergic reactions but also supports environmental sustainability. For hair health, natural shampoos can improve moisture retention, reduce scalp inflammation, and enhance shine without weighing hair down. They are particularly beneficial for addressing issues like dandruff, oiliness, or damage, as they work in harmony with the body's natural processes.
How to Use Shampoo and Conditioner Effectively
Proper hair care involves more than just washing; it requires a balanced routine. Start by wetting hair thoroughly with lukewarm water to avoid stripping oils. Apply a small amount of shampoo, like an EWG verified one, focusing on the scalp to cleanse without over-drying. Rinse well, then follow with a conditioner, such as Attitude Moisture Rich Conditioner, concentrating on the ends to detangle and hydrate. Leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing with cool water to seal the cuticle. Limit washing to 2-3 times a week to prevent natural oil loss, and consider using a wide-tooth comb to minimize breakage when brushing wet hair.
Common Hair Care Questions
Many people have questions about maintaining healthy hair. For instance, how often should you wash your hair? It depends on your hair type—oily hair may need more frequent washing, while dry or curly hair benefits from less. Generally, 2-3 times a week is sufficient to avoid stripping natural oils. Can shampoo cause hair loss? Yes, if it contains harsh detergents, it can lead to breakage and thinning; opting for gentle, verified products reduces this risk. What about herbal scents? Natural shampoos often have mild, earthy aromas from ingredients like chamomile or lavender, which are free from artificial perfumes that can cause sensitivities. Finally, how long does it take to see results? Improvements in hair texture and reduction in issues like frizz or loss can be noticeable after just a few uses, but consistency is key for long-term benefits.
