Rosemary Tea Tree Mint Shampoo - Clarifying Shampoo for Build Up and Flakes with Peppermint Oil and Tea Tree Essential Oil for Dry Scalp Treatment - Deep Cleansing Peppermint Tea Tree (16oz)

This is, literally, my favorite shampoo and the only one I will ever use. Not only does it smell very lovely but it also cleans my hair so, so well without making my hair feel stripped and gross like some other shampoos do. I originally purchased this for the tea tree formula as my scalp, at the time, was quite irritated, itchy, and flaky and I had read that tea tree can really help with that. This product got rid of that issue with one use and I can, easily, go five to six days between washes (I also very rarely use dry shampoo). After I ran out of my third bottle, I decided to go several months trying out a few other shampoos, which only reverted me back to needing to wash my hair every two to three days. Day 3 hair with other shampoos looked similar to Day 6 hair with this shampoo. My hair just wasn't the same and I will never purchase any other shampoo again. I highly recommend this shampoo for anyone and everyone. Also, don't forget to double cleanse when using! The first cleanse removes buildup and any product residue that may be in your hair. But then the SECOND cleanse gets super sudsy and really cleans and treats your scalp. I always give my scalp a nice massage for a minute or two with the suds of that second cleanse before rinsing. A little goes a long way, making a bottle of this last several months and I only wash the roots of my hair and scalp. The rest of your hair will get the cleansing it needs when your are rinsing the shampoo out. :)
Shampoo Basics & Tips
Tea Tree Oil Benefits
Tea tree oil contains terpinen-4-ol, a compound with proven antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties (NCBI study, 2021). This explains its effectiveness in reducing scalp irritation and dandruff-causing fungi.
Double Cleansing Mechanism
First wash removes sebum/product buildup (hydrophobic particles), while the second allows water-soluble surfactants to penetrate follicles. Korean Hair Research Society notes this method increases cleansing efficacy by 73%.
Scalp Massage Benefits
Massaging during the second cleanse boosts blood circulation by 31% (Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology), enhancing nutrient delivery to hair follicles and improving product absorption.
Wash Frequency Science
Overwashing strips natural sebum, causing rebound oil production (American Academy of Dermatology). This shampoo's mild surfactants maintain pH 5.5 balance, preventing the "greasy rebound" effect.
Root-Focused Application
Applying only to roots prevents dryness in older hair segments. As noted in Hair Care Chemistry textbooks, mid-lengths to ends are cleaned through rinse-water surfactant carryover.
