I recommend this shampoo for its excellent lather and soft hair results.
I purchased this shampoo set for a great deal. Despite the initial chemical odor, the shampoo lathers well with little product, and the conditioner makes my hair feel soft and fresh. I highly recommend it.
This is a review from Amazon.com about product:
MONDAY HAIRCARE Repair Shampoo and Conditioner Set 12oz for Dry to Damaged Hair, Made with Keratin, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and Vitamin E

I bought these because it is a great deal on this kind of shampoo and conditioner. Personally, I’ve never seen this brand on TikTok or any other social media. I saw them on here. Anyway, the initial smell was very chemically, like when you smell them from the bottle. It kind of scared me a little but I tried this set tonight and the results were good. The shampoo lathers up very good, it doesn’t take a lot at all. The conditioner is nice and creamy and left my hair feeling fresh and soft. The smell on the hair is like what others are saying, it’s kind of a floral scent and it’s very light not strong. It’s hard to describe. Anyway, I do recommend this set for everyone to try and I will most likely purchase it again. I will leave an updated review after using it for a while
Shampoo Basics & Tips
Understanding the Chemical Smell in Shampoo
Many shampoos have a chemical-like odor when first smelled from the bottle, which can be due to ingredients such as sulfates, preservatives, or synthetic fragrances. Sulfates, like sodium lauryl sulfate, are common surfactants that create lather but may emit a strong scent. Preservatives, such as parabens, are added to prevent bacterial growth and can contribute to the smell. This initial odor often dissipates after use and rinsing, as the fragrance blends with other components. It's generally not harmful, but if you have sensitivities, look for sulfate-free or natural alternatives.
Why Shampoo Lather Matters for Hair Care
Lather refers to the foam produced when shampoo is mixed with water, primarily due to surfactants that reduce surface tension. A good lather helps distribute the shampoo evenly, cleanse the scalp of oil and dirt, and provide a satisfying sensory experience. However, excessive lather doesn't always mean better cleaning; it can indicate high sulfate content, which might strip natural oils. For dry or color-treated hair, low-lather shampoos with gentle surfactants are often recommended to maintain moisture balance.
The Benefits of Creamy Conditioners
Creamy conditioners typically contain emollients like silicones, oils, or butters that coat the hair shaft, smoothing cuticles and reducing frizz. This results in soft, manageable hair by sealing in moisture. Ingredients such as dimethicone provide slip and shine, while natural oils like argan oil nourish the scalp. Regular use can prevent damage from styling or environmental factors, but buildup may occur, so occasional clarifying washes are advised.
How Shampoo Leaves Hair Feeling Fresh and Soft
Shampoos and conditioners work together to cleanse and hydrate, leading to a fresh, soft feel. Cleansing agents remove impurities, while conditioners add moisture through humectants like glycerin. The "fresh" sensation often comes from mild astringents or menthol derivatives that stimulate the scalp, and softness is achieved by restoring the hair's pH balance and protein structure. For best results, choose products suited to your hair type, such as moisturizing formulas for dry hair.
Explaining Light Floral Scents in Hair Products
Floral scents in shampoos are derived from essential oils like lavender or rose, or synthetic fragrances designed to be light and non-overpowering. A subtle scent ensures it doesn't irritate the senses or cause allergies, and it often lingers mildly after washing. Fragrance chemistry involves volatile compounds that evaporate slowly, providing a pleasant experience without conflicting with other products like perfumes.
Everyday Shampoo Knowledge and Common Questions
Shampoo is a daily necessity for most people, but misconceptions abound. For instance, washing hair too frequently can strip natural oils, leading to dryness, while infrequent washing may cause buildup. It's best to shampoo 2-3 times a week, adjusting based on hair type. Common questions include: How to choose the right shampoo? Look for labels matching your needs, like "volumizing" for fine hair or "hydrating" for curly hair. Can shampoo cause hair loss? Generally, no, but harsh ingredients might contribute to breakage. Always rinse thoroughly to avoid residue. Additionally, DIY alternatives like apple cider vinegar rinses can be used occasionally for shine, but commercial products are formulated for safety and efficacy.
Tips for Affordable and Effective Hair Care
Affordable shampoo sets can be just as effective as high-end ones if they contain key ingredients like gentle cleansers and conditioners. To maximize value, read reviews, check for sales, and avoid overusing product—a coin-sized amount of shampoo is often sufficient. Remember, hair health also depends on diet, hydration, and minimal heat styling. If you experience issues like dandruff or oiliness, consult a dermatologist for tailored advice.
