I love how this shampoo makes my hair soft and silky without conditioner.
This shampoo gave me soft, silky hair that's manageable sans conditioner. Medium lather, faint scent, hydrated. Ideal for color-treated hair.
This is a review from Amazon.com about product:
Japan Haruhi Argan Oil Shampoo & Conditioner Set – Organic, Moisturizing, Strengthening – Volumizing for Thin Hair – Repairs Damage, Controls Frizz – Hydrates Frizzy, Fine, Weak, & Color-Treated Hair

This is a very nice shampoo. It left my hair soft, silky, and manageable. I didn't use the conditioner, because that tends to weigh my hair down. I felt as if the shampoo almost acted as a conditioner in and of itself.
The lather was medium. It didn't lather up in volume, but it was adequate and easy to lather. The scent seems sweet but very faint. My hair does seem well-hydrated and looks nice. It feels very soft.
I would say that if a person has oily hair, this might not be the best cleanser. My hair looks like it is going to need a wash sooner than I normally wash it (twice a week) because it may start to look oily from the emollients in the shampoo.
I'm glad that it specifically addresses color-treated hair. Not all shampoos do.
In short, it's a nice shampoo. It is very gentle and will leave your hair soft as a cloud.
Shampoo Basics & Tips
Understanding Shampoo Benefits and Common Questions
Shampoo is a hair care product designed to clean the scalp and hair by removing dirt, oil, and product buildup. In the review, the user highlights how the shampoo left their hair soft, silky, and manageable. Soft hair typically results from ingredients like moisturizers and emollients that smooth the hair cuticle, reducing friction and making it feel smooth to the touch. Silky hair refers to a smooth, shiny appearance often achieved through hydrating components that enhance the hair's natural luster. Manageable hair means it's easy to style and control, which can be due to formulations that reduce frizz and add elasticity.
The user mentioned not using conditioner because it tends to weigh hair down. Conditioners often contain heavy oils or silicones that can build up on fine or oily hair, making it look flat or greasy. Some shampoos, like the one reviewed, are designed to provide conditioning benefits independently, using lighter ingredients that hydrate without heaviness. This is ideal for people seeking simplicity in their routine or those with hair prone to oiliness.
Lather, or foam, in shampoos comes from surfactants that help distribute the product and lift away impurities. A medium lather, as described, indicates a balanced formulation—not too harsh or too weak—which can effectively clean without stripping natural oils. The faint sweet scent adds a pleasant experience without overpowering, appealing to those sensitive to strong fragrances.
Hydration is crucial for healthy hair, as it prevents dryness and breakage. This shampoo likely includes humectants or moisturizing agents that attract and retain moisture, leading to well-hydrated hair that looks vibrant. However, the user noted that for oily hair, this might not be the best choice due to emollients. Emollients are ingredients that soften and smooth hair but can add excess oil to already oily scalps, potentially requiring more frequent washing. It's important to choose shampoos based on hair type: for oily hair, look for clarifying or oil-control formulas; for dry or color-treated hair, opt for hydrating and gentle options.
Color-treated hair requires special care to maintain vibrancy and prevent fading. Shampoos formulated for this often have pH-balanced or sulfate-free ingredients that protect hair dye from washing out. The gentle nature of this shampoo aligns with that, reducing damage and preserving color. In daily life, common shampoo questions include how often to wash hair—typically 2-3 times a week for most people, but it varies by hair type and lifestyle. Over-washing can strip natural oils, while under-washing may lead to buildup. Additionally, ingredients to avoid include sulfates if you have sensitive skin or color-treated hair, as they can be drying. Always patch-test new products to check for allergies and consider your hair's needs, such as volume, hydration, or repair, when selecting a shampoo.
