I keep rebuying this shampoo for its residue-free softness and unbeatable price value.
Despite trying other Bed Head lines and Redkin, I always return to this shampoo for consistently soft, clean-feeling hair without any residue, all at an affordable price.

TIGI Bed Head Shampoo & Conditioner For Damaged Hair Resurrection Infused With The Resurrection Plant 2 x 25.36 fl oz

I always seem to go right back to this shampoo and conditioner. I've tried other bed head shampoos and conditioners but I always go back to this one. This make my hair so soft and doesn't leave it feeling like I have a bunch of residue on my hair after washing it. I used Redkin to try to see if I like that better and if i saw a difference and I didn't and ended up buying bed head again. Well worth it! You can't beat the price either!
Shampoo Basics & Tips
Understanding Shampoo Performance: Softness, Residue, and Value
The user review highlights key aspects of shampoo performance that many consumers prioritize: achieving soft hair, avoiding residue, and getting good value. Let's explore these concepts and related shampoo knowledge.
What Causes Hair to Feel "Soft"?
Shampoos contribute to softness primarily through conditioning agents. These ingredients (like cationic surfactants, silicones - dimethicone, amodimethicone, or natural oils and butters) deposit onto the hair shaft during washing. They smooth down the hair cuticle (the outer layer), reducing friction between strands. A smooth cuticle reflects light better, making hair look shiny and feel slippery or soft to the touch. Hydrating ingredients like glycerin or panthenol also attract moisture to the hair, plumping strands and enhancing softness.
What is "Residue" and Why Does it Happen?
Residue refers to the unpleasant feeling of product buildup left on the hair and scalp after rinsing. It can make hair look dull, feel heavy, greasy, or sticky, and sometimes cause scalp itchiness. Residue typically occurs due to:
The reviewer specifically notes this shampoo avoids residue, suggesting it uses effective surfactants that rinse cleanly and conditioning agents that don't overly build up.
Evaluating Value in Shampoo
"Value" combines price with perceived performance. The reviewer finds this shampoo delivers superior results (softness, no residue) compared to competitors (including Redken, a professional brand), justifying its cost. Value assessments are personal and depend on hair type, desired results, and budget. Key factors include:
Shampoo Loyalty and Switching
The reviewer exhibits strong brand loyalty, returning after trying alternatives. This often happens when a product consistently meets core needs (softness, no residue, value). Trying other products ("Redkin to try to see if I like that better") is common, but finding one that reliably delivers key benefits often leads consumers back to their "holy grail" product.
Common Shampoo Questions & Tips
Finding the right shampoo is about identifying your hair's primary needs (softness, volume, curl definition, oil control, scalp health) and finding a product that addresses those effectively without negative side effects (residue, dryness), all within a comfortable price point – exactly what this reviewer discovered with their preferred Bed Head shampoo.
