Volumizing Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner Set - Sulfate Free Shampoo and Conditioner for Dry Damaged Hair Care - Thinning Hair Shampoo and Conditioner with Nourishing Biotin and Rosemary Oil (8oz)
As you can see in the first picture that it is all the hair that I lose in the shower on a regular basis! I can’t even begin to tell you how much hair I lose throughout the day! The second picture is my hair after I used this shampoo . It hasn’t been such a dramatic change but has been a significant one. It smells like medicine but I don’t mind it! My hair is softer and shinier! I have an oily sensitive scalp so this shampoo doesn’t irritate me. I will give an update once I finish the bottle but overall it has been pretty good.
Shampoo Basics & Tips
Understanding Hair Loss and Shampoo Efficacy
Excessive shower hair loss, as described, often stems from telogen effluvium—a temporary shedding phase triggered by stress, hormones, or scalp imbalance. Therapeutic shampoos combat this by strengthening follicles and reducing inflammation.
Oily Sensitive Scalp Solutions
An oily scalp results from overactive sebaceous glands. Sensitive variants react to harsh surfactants (like SLS). This shampoo's gentle formulation likely avoids sulfates, using calming agents like aloe or chamomile to prevent irritation while balancing oil.
Medicinal Scent in Shampoos
The "medicine-like" smell often indicates active ingredients such as ketoconazole (antifungal), salicylic acid (exfoliant), or botanical extracts (e.g., neem). These target dandruff, inflammation, or microbial imbalances linked to hair loss.
Hair Softness and Shine Mechanics
Softer, shinier hair signals improved cuticle health. Ingredients like panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) or hydrolyzed proteins seal moisture and smooth strands. Reduced shedding also minimizes breakage, enhancing overall texture.
Shampoo Selection for Scalp Health
For oily sensitive scalps, prioritize pH-balanced (4.5-5.5), fragrance-free formulas with niacinamide or tea tree oil. Avoid heavy silicones that clog follicles. Patch-test new products to prevent reactions.
