I love this Italian shampoo's color-safe formula, luxurious shine, and unique spicy scent—great value compared to salons!
This Italian shampoo keeps my color vibrant with its illuminating formula, offers salon-quality shine at Amazon prices, and features a unique spicy amber scent I prefer over floral options.
This is a review from Amazon.com about product:
Alfaparf Milano Semi di Lino Diamond Shine Illuminating Low Shampoo - Sulfate Free - For All Hair Types- Paraben and Paraffin Free - Safe on Colored Hair - Professional Salon Quality (8.45 Fl Oz)

This line of hair care is Italian. It is color safe and the illuminating adds a pretty shine which I have always liked. The value for this is very good on Amazon...it sells for much more in a salon. The thing I truly like about this but you will see other women complain - this is a personal preference only - is the scent. I dislike flowery, over-girly hair care. The scent from this one is a bit on the spicy side. I read one review that compared it to a men's cologne which is kind of true but it is my favorite. (If you like amber based colognes, you will like the scent of this shampoo.)
Shampoo Basics & Tips
Why Italian Hair Care Stands Out
Italian haircare brands prioritize high-quality ingredients and advanced formulations. This shampoo's "color-safe" claim means it lacks harsh sulfates that strip dye, extending the life of colored hair. The "illuminating" effect likely comes from light-reflecting proteins or oils that enhance natural shine without weighing hair down.
Salon vs. Retail Pricing
Salons often charge more for professional-grade products due to exclusivity agreements. Amazon's competitive pricing makes luxury haircare accessible—this shampoo's salon-quality performance at retail prices exemplifies this trend.
Understanding Scent Profiles
The "spicy amber" fragrance differs from typical floral shampoos. Amber-based scents blend warm resins and spices, resembling unisex colognes. This appeals to those who dislike sweet or overly feminine fragrances, offering a sophisticated alternative.
How to Preserve Hair Color
Use sulfate-free shampoos (like this one) 2-3 times weekly. Cold water rinses seal hair cuticles, locking in color and shine. Avoid heat styling tools to prevent fading.
Choosing the Right Shampoo for Your Hair Type
For color-treated hair: Opt for pH-balanced, sulfate-free formulas. For shine: Look for ingredients like argan oil or hydrolyzed keratin. For fragrance preferences: Test travel-sized versions before committing to full bottles.
