COLOR WOW Quick Frizz Fixes! Travel Kit – Includes Shampoo, Conditioner, One Minute Transformation Styling Cream, Pop & Lock Frizz Control and Glossing Serum, The ultimate in frizz control.

The first pic is what my hair usually looks like. Its actually more curly than what the pic shows. The second 2 are after using a small amount of this product. I have very curly, wavy hair. I usually wear it curly because it takes so long to straighten it & fix it. I bought this product hoping for the best but not really believing it would work. Nothing ever works like it says it will. Yesterday I went curly & even had a clip in the top of my hair. I went to bed without brushing it or anything because it was late & I was exhausted. I woke up to very frizzy hair with a line in it from the clip. As I was about to stick my head in the sink, I got a notification that this had been delivered. So I get it & read the directions. So I put a small amount in my hand & put it all through my hair. I had to get a tiny bit more for the back & underneath. Then I used my dryer brush to just brush it & turn the ends under. I did use my curling iron to touch up a few places. BUT it literally took 5 minutes! This is what I've been looking & hoping for for years! I'm excited to try all of their other products!!!!!
Shampoo Basics & Tips
Understanding Curly and Wavy Hair
Curly and wavy hair types have unique structures that make them prone to frizz and tangles. Curly hair forms tight spirals or rings, while wavy hair has gentle S-shaped curves. These hair types often have a raised cuticle layer, which allows moisture to enter easily, leading to frizz. They also tend to be drier because natural oils from the scalp don't distribute evenly down the hair shaft. Proper care involves using moisturizing products to define curls and reduce breakage, enhancing natural beauty without weighing hair down.
What is Frizz and How to Control It
Frizz is the fuzzy, unruly appearance of hair caused by humidity, damage, or dryness. It happens when the hair cuticle lifts and absorbs moisture from the air, making strands swell and stand out. To control frizz, use anti-frizz shampoos with ingredients like silicones or natural oils (e.g., argan oil) that smooth the cuticle and seal in hydration. Avoid overwashing, as it can strip natural oils, and always use a conditioner to maintain moisture balance. For curly hair, frizz is common due to its texture, so incorporating leave-in treatments and avoiding harsh towels can help keep hair sleek.
The Role of Shampoo in Hair Care
Shampoo cleanses the scalp and hair by removing dirt, oil, and product buildup. For curly hair, it's crucial to choose sulfate-free formulas that gently clean without stripping essential oils, which can cause dryness and more frizz. Shampoos with moisturizing agents like shea butter or glycerin help hydrate strands, improve curl definition, and reduce frizz. Regular use of a good shampoo can prevent damage, enhance shine, and make styling easier. Always follow with a conditioner to lock in moisture and protect hair from environmental stressors.
Styling Tools: Dryer Brush and Curling Iron
A dryer brush is a hybrid tool that combines a hair dryer and a brush to style hair quickly by drying and smoothing it simultaneously. It's ideal for reducing frizz and adding volume, especially for wavy or curly hair, as it distributes heat evenly. A curling iron is used to create or enhance curls; for touch-ups, it can define curls without causing excessive heat damage if used on low settings with a heat protectant spray. These tools save time but should be used sparingly to avoid heat damage—always apply a heat protectant and limit use to a few times a week.
Time-Saving Hair Care Tips
To save time on hair styling, start with a good shampoo and conditioner suited to your hair type. Use leave-in products like serums or creams for hold and frizz control. For curly hair, try air-drying or using a diffuser attachment on low heat to maintain curl integrity without lengthy styling. Incorporate multi-tools like dryer brushes for quick smoothness, and avoid over-brushing, which can cause frizz. Planning your routine the night before, such as applying overnight treatments, can also cut down morning styling time and keep hair healthy.
Common Questions About Shampoo for Curly Hair
Q: How often should I wash curly hair? A: Typically, 2-3 times a week to prevent dryness, as curly hair produces less natural oil. Overwashing can lead to frizz and breakage. Q: What ingredients are best in shampoo for curly hair? A: Look for moisturizing components like coconut oil, aloe vera, or proteins that hydrate and strengthen curls. Avoid sulfates and alcohols that can dry out hair. Q: Can shampoo alone reduce frizz? A: While shampoo helps, it's most effective when paired with conditioners and styling products designed for frizz control. Always use a comprehensive routine for best results. Q: Why does my hair get frizzy after washing? A: This could be due to hard water, rough drying, or using the wrong products—opt for gentle, hydrating shampoos and pat hair dry with a microfiber towel.
