This is a review from Amazon.com about product:
R+Co BLEU Primary Color Shampoo – Locks in Color, Hydration, and Shine, Seals Cuticle, Adds Strength to Protect Against Breakage, Maintains Vibrancy, 8.5 oz

This shampoo arrives in a super luxurious box. Everything here advertises how "special" this product is. Now, there is a seal under the cap and I mean, a strong, strong seal. I tried to remove it in the shower: no way. I stepped out, dried the bottle ... no way. I tried to remove it with a nail file ... nope. Ultimately, I popped it off with cuticle scissors. No doubt, this is a strong seal!
Now, the product itself has a light, perfume scent. It is not obtrusive, just "nice." And, the product itself is thin: which is great because it makes distributing this through my hair very easy. Moreover, this has a really great lather!
This rinses easily and rinses clean.
This is an overall nice shampoo that has great lather and delivers a good, clean feeling! Recommended!
Shampoo Basics & Tips
Why Shampoo Seals Are Important
Shampoo seals, like the strong one mentioned in the review, serve to prevent contamination, leakage, and maintain product freshness. They are typically made from materials like foil or plastic and ensure that the shampoo hasn't been tampered with before use. A secure seal can indicate high-quality manufacturing standards, protecting the ingredients from air and moisture that might degrade them over time. In daily life, if you encounter a tough seal, it's best to use tools like scissors carefully to avoid damaging the bottle or hurting yourself. This feature is common in premium products to enhance user trust and safety.
Understanding Shampoo Scent
The light perfume scent described in the review refers to a subtle fragrance added to shampoos to improve the washing experience. Unlike strong, overpowering scents that can cause allergies or headaches, a mild aroma is designed to be pleasant without irritating the scalp or senses. Scents in shampoos often use essential oils or synthetic fragrances to leave hair smelling fresh after rinsing. For those with sensitive skin, opting for unscented or naturally fragranced shampoos can reduce the risk of reactions. In general, a balanced scent can make hair care routines more enjoyable and contribute to a feeling of cleanliness.
The Role of Shampoo Texture
Shampoo texture, such as the thin consistency highlighted in the review, affects how easily the product distributes through hair. A thinner formula spreads more evenly, reducing the amount needed and minimizing tangles, which is especially beneficial for fine or oily hair types. Thicker shampoos might provide more moisture but can be harder to rinse out. The texture is influenced by ingredients like surfactants and thickeners; for instance, water-based formulas tend to be lighter. When choosing a shampoo, consider your hair density—thin textures work well for daily use, while thicker ones may suit dry or coarse hair. This aspect impacts application ease and overall satisfaction.
Importance of Lather in Shampoo
Lather, the rich foam produced when shampoo mixes with water, plays a key role in cleansing by helping to distribute active ingredients evenly across the scalp and hair. It traps dirt, oil, and impurities, making them easier to rinse away. The review's mention of great lather suggests effective surfactants, which create bubbles and enhance the sensory experience. However, more lather doesn't always mean better cleaning; it can depend on water hardness and hair type. For example, sulfate-free shampoos might lather less but still clean thoroughly. In everyday use, a good lather can make washing feel more luxurious and efficient, contributing to the perception of cleanliness.
What Does "Rinses Clean" Mean?
"Rinses clean" indicates that the shampoo washes out completely without leaving residue, as praised in the review. This is crucial to avoid buildup that can weigh hair down, cause itchiness, or lead to dullness. Residue-free rinsing often results from well-formulated products with balanced surfactants that don't overly strip natural oils. It helps maintain scalp health and hair shine. In contrast, some shampoos with heavy silicones or oils might require multiple rinses. To achieve a clean rinse, use lukewarm water and massage thoroughly. This feature is particularly important for people with fine or oily hair, as it promotes a light, fresh feel and reduces the need for frequent washing.
How to Choose the Right Shampoo
Selecting the right shampoo involves considering your hair type, scalp condition, and personal preferences. For oily hair, look for clarifying shampoos with ingredients like tea tree oil; for dry hair, moisturizing options with argan oil or shea butter work well. If you have a sensitive scalp, avoid sulfates and parabens, which can cause irritation. The review's emphasis on thin texture and easy distribution suggests it might suit normal to oily hair. Additionally, check for pH-balanced formulas (around 5.5) to maintain scalp health. Experiment with sample sizes if possible, and remember that rotating shampoos can prevent buildup and adapt to changing needs.
Common Shampoo Myths Debunked
Many misconceptions surround shampoo use, such as the idea that more lather equals better cleaning—this isn't always true, as lather depends on surfactants and water quality. Another myth is that daily washing damages hair; in reality, it depends on your hair type and product choice. For instance, people with oily hair might benefit from frequent washing, while those with dry hair should limit it. Also, "natural" shampoos aren't necessarily safer; some natural ingredients can still cause allergies. The review's focus on a clean rinse and pleasant experience highlights that effectiveness varies by formulation, so it's best to base choices on individual needs rather than generalizations.
