Initially, my hair had great volume and smell, but later it turned greasy.
This shampoo started with excellent smell and quality, giving my long hair incredible volume and thickness. But the small bottle was too expensive, and after the third use, my hair lost volume and became greasy, so I switched to a cheaper option.

I like it. Good smell , good quality but so f expensive. For my hair( they are long) not even for one month! So small bottle for shampoo. And in a beginning it did a great job. My hair had a lot ad volume, they were thick , but when I bought 3rd tube the result were not the same.. Nothing special ... No volume..greasy hair! Now I use shampoo Easy Life from Walmart and so happy. $5.00 for huge tube, my hair look amazing !!!!
Shampoo Basics & Tips
Understanding Shampoo Performance and Hair Care Basics
In the provided review, the user mentions several key aspects of their shampoo experience, such as smell, quality, price, bottle size, hair volume, thickness, greasiness, and changing results over time. These points relate to common factors in shampoo selection and hair care. Let's explore these concepts in detail to help you make informed decisions.
What Makes a Shampoo Smell Good?
The "good smell" noted in the review refers to the fragrance added to shampoos, often derived from essential oils or synthetic scents. A pleasant aroma can enhance the user experience, but it's important to check if the fragrance causes allergies or irritation. Hypoallergenic shampoos might be better for sensitive scalps.
Evaluating Shampoo Quality and Price
Shampoo quality typically involves ingredients like surfactants (e.g., sulfates) that cleanse, and additives like conditioners or natural extracts. High-quality shampoos may use milder ingredients but can be expensive, as mentioned in the review. Price often reflects brand, packaging, or marketing, not always effectiveness. Budget-friendly options, like the user's switch to Walmart's Easy Life shampoo, can perform well without breaking the bank.
Hair Volume and Thickness: What Do They Mean?
Hair volume describes how full or lifted hair appears, often achieved through volumizing shampoos that coat hair strands to add body. Thickness refers to the diameter of individual hairs or overall density. The review highlights initial success with volume and thickness, which can result from ingredients like proteins or polymers that temporarily plump hair. However, factors like product buildup or hair health changes can diminish effects over time.
Why Shampoo Results Can Change Over Time
The user experienced great results initially but noticed greasiness and reduced volume later. This could be due to product accumulation on the scalp, leading to weighed-down hair, or the hair adapting to the formula. Rotating shampoos or using clarifying products periodically can prevent this. Additionally, hair needs may change with seasons, diet, or stress, affecting how shampoos perform.
Dealing with Greasy Hair After Shampoo Use
Greasy hair, as mentioned, often stems from overproduction of scalp oils (sebum) or residue from heavy shampoos. Shampoos with balancing ingredients like tea tree oil or salicylic acid can help. The review's shift to a different shampoo shows how experimenting with formulas—like those for oily hair—can resolve issues.
Choosing the Right Shampoo for Your Hair Type
For long hair like the user's, volumizing or moisturizing shampoos are common choices. Key tips: match shampoo to hair type (e.g., oily, dry), avoid over-washing, and consider bottle size for cost-effectiveness. Reading reviews and trying samples can prevent disappointment.
Common Shampoo Problems and Solutions
Many users face issues like high cost or small sizes. Look for value packs or generic brands. If a shampoo stops working, it might be due to ingredient interactions or external factors—consult a dermatologist if problems persist. Overall, hair care is personal; what works for one may not for another, so patience and adaptation are key.
