My Brazilian Blowout Shampoo Extends Smooth Hair

This is an update from what I posted last year.

First Brazilian Blowout is the name of a hair straightening procedure that costs a couple of hundred dollars. The hair gets heavily coated with a product that will stay in for around 16 weeks. That is if the proprietary shampoo and conditioner are used after the process. The down side of the Blowout is that hair might break easier and during the heat process, formaldehyde is released. This is a known carcinogen. When I get this, I wear an N95 mask and the door to the outside is opened.

The post Blowout products lack a common chemical found in OTC products in order to prevent stripping the proprietary hair coating. I also use the Ionic Bonding spray because it is a great detangler that I even use on my grandkids when they visit. Last year I used an OTC product after the 16 weeks, not knowing that my hair was still coated. This resulted in the product being stripped from my hair. This year I got about 20 to 24 weeks from the Blowout by continuing to use their products

With the Blowout, I found that I only needed to use the conditioner sparingly because I made my hair even heavier. When the coating was gone, the conditioner behaved like a mediocre OTC product. The shampoo on the other hand was very luxurious and my continued use did not affect at breakout of dandruff.

In general, the products are authentic to an actual Blowout and will not reduce frizz unless the coating is done. The cost savings was minimal since I could get the product from my official hairdresser for close to the same amount. Without a Blowout, these products will not reduce frizz, but the shampoo is one of the better ones.
