This is a review from Amazon.com about product:
Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Conditioner, 8.5 Fl Oz
I originally got some small sample bottles as a gift. Finally decided to use them on my damaged, very badly split ends and dry hair. This shampoo/conditioner I feel like fixed my hair! My hair is so much nicer, smoother. My hair I felt like was coming out a lot when I washed with cheap shampoo and brushed my hair. No more hair coming out and the smell of this shampoo is so good. The good smell lasts for days, you can just randomly smell it through the day. It put my hair in much better condition. I will be buying all the other products to try!
Shampoo Basics & Tips
What Causes Damaged Hair?
Damaged hair often results from external factors like excessive heat styling, chemical treatments such as coloring or perming, and environmental exposure to sun or pollution. These can strip the hair's natural oils, leading to dryness, breakage, and loss of shine. Using harsh shampoos with sulfates can exacerbate this by removing essential moisture. To prevent damage, opt for gentle, moisturizing products and limit the use of hot tools. Regular trims and deep conditioning treatments can help restore hair health over time.
Understanding Split Ends
Split ends occur when the protective outer layer of the hair shaft, called the cuticle, wears away, causing the hair to fray and split. This is commonly due to mechanical stress from brushing, towel-drying roughly, or lack of moisture. Split ends can make hair look frizzy and unkempt, and they don't repair themselves—trimming is the only way to remove them. To minimize split ends, use a wide-tooth comb on wet hair, avoid over-washing, and apply leave-in conditioners that seal the hair cuticle and provide hydration.
Dealing with Dry Hair
Dry hair lacks sufficient moisture and natural oils, often appearing dull, brittle, and prone to tangling. Causes include overwashing, using alcohol-based products, hard water, or underlying health issues like nutrient deficiencies. To combat dryness, choose shampoos and conditioners with hydrating ingredients like argan oil, shea butter, or glycerin. These help lock in moisture and improve elasticity. Additionally, reducing shampoo frequency to 2-3 times a week and incorporating hair masks can restore balance and leave hair feeling soft and manageable.
Reducing Hair Fall
Hair fall, or shedding, is normal to some extent, but excessive loss can stem from factors like stress, poor diet, hormonal changes, or using low-quality shampoos that weaken hair follicles. In the review, the user noted reduced hair fall after switching to a better shampoo, likely due to nourishing ingredients that strengthen hair from the roots. To minimize hair fall, focus on a balanced diet rich in vitamins like biotin and iron, avoid tight hairstyles, and use sulfate-free shampoos that gently cleanse without stripping natural oils. Regular scalp massages can also promote blood circulation and hair growth.
Long-Lasting Fragrance in Shampoo
The lasting scent in shampoos is achieved through encapsulated fragrances or essential oils that release gradually over time. This not only enhances the user experience but can also indicate higher-quality formulations with better adherence to hair strands. In the review, the pleasant smell lasted for days, which is often due to ingredients like natural extracts or synthetic perfumes designed for longevity. However, it's important to choose products with skin-safe fragrances to avoid irritation. For those sensitive to scents, fragrance-free options are available, but a lasting aroma can contribute to overall satisfaction and confidence.
Improving Hair Condition
Better hair condition refers to enhanced texture, strength, and appearance, often achieved through products that repair damage and provide essential nutrients. Key ingredients to look for include proteins like keratin, which rebuilds hair structure, and humectants like honey that retain moisture. In daily life, maintaining good hair health involves protecting hair from UV rays, using lukewarm water for washing, and avoiding excessive brushing. Common questions include how often to shampoo—typically 2-4 times a week depending on hair type—and whether to condition every time (yes, to detangle and moisturize). By adopting a consistent routine with quality products, you can achieve smoother, healthier hair that resists damage and looks vibrant.
