I Finally Discovered an Effective Natural Dandruff Shampoo

I have moderate dandruff. My hair is moderately long, dark brown, not really thin or thick, and has a natural softness. I have never colored my hair, but I did spend a year several years back flat ironing my natural curls. After all that flat ironing my hair was horribly dry and ruined for quite a while. Even when it was sort of back to normal it was still not nearly as soft as before. Biosilk actually brought my hair back to softness, but there was a downside. Biosilk did nothing for my dandruff. So I looked around and decided to try more natural products since most off the shelf products did nothing for my hair.

Another note: I work in the food industry so I'm wearing a hat and hair net on an almost daily basis, which did not at all help with my dandruff problem.

Now I have had used tea tree shampoo before from the Generic line, a line meant to imitate the Paul Mitchell Tea tree oil products, and it did work on my dandruff, but it dried out my hair. So that didn't work.

Then I found Maple Holistics. This shampoo has been very effective with my dandruff. It took a few applications, which for me is about a couple weeks since I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week so I don't lose my natural oils in my hair. After a couple of uses I noticed my scalp healing over since I had been so itchy that I had scratched myself quite a bit. The itchiness has been greatly reduced, and while I still get dandruff it's very mild compared to before (even with sweaty hat hair) . I also noticed that my hair hasn't horribly dried out!

Now the reason for the one star taken off is that it's not a perfect product. I did pair this with their Silk conditioner, and my hair lost a little of that softness I had gotten from Biosilk. Still my hair and scalp feels good and I'm a pretty happy with this new product.

Now I noticed a lot of people got free or discounts of this product, but I didn't. I bought this completely on my own at full price and felt compelled to review.

Also this shampoo smells wonderful. Minty lavender. And I'll do a separate review of their conditioner.
