Rice Water Shampoo Bar & Argan Conditioner Bar Set – Strengthening & Nourishing Hair Care Duo for Fine or Weak Hair – Solid Shampoo and Conditioner Bars for Growth, Shine & Scalp Balance

I've never used bar shampoo/conditioner before but I really like the idea of lower carbon footprint/less packaging waste, etc... Smell is lovely but very strong until I used it. Now it's nice. I.e. sitting on table in living room unopened, it smelled as strong as a burning scented candle. (!) After first use, the smell is now subtle (and I don't smell it at all really unless I pick it up and take a whiff). Fortunately, I like the scent. Not sure scent lingers in hair at all really (not a bad thing either way in this case).
If you (like me) have never used bar shampoo before you may want to modify your routine slightly. I used to lather once, wait a min, rinse, then move on to the conditioner. Now I rub the shampoo bar in my wet hands a few times, wash my scalp, rinse, then rub bar 1-2x more with hands and lather scalp/hair again. Second lather is feels just like washing with liquid shampoo. Rinses cleanly.
Similar process with conditioner. Hair does not feel conditioned until you rinse, then it feels silk, like any other conditioner I've used. Conditioner feels light, which is what I want.
Intention going forward is to double wash/condition every few days, and on off days, wash/condition without rinsing in between to see what happens. (I.e. wash scalp with shampoo 1x, and condition ends with conditioner 1x, leave be while I wash rest of body, then thorough rinse from head to toe... trying to ease into washing hair less frequently).
I crocheted a wash bag for the conditioner bar and am still working on the one for the shampoo (intending to hang them from shower curtain hooks so they don't become a slimy mess in the soap dish). Might not be necessary? Underside of shampoo bar is not slimy so far (as it sits on the grooved soap holder section of the shower shelf). If you wear pantyhose/tights, you can always take an old pair (e.g. with a run) and put a bar of soap or shampoo or conditioner in that, knot strategically so it doesn't fall out, trim, and hang it up. You can use the soap through the fabric and by hanging it, it stays drier, and you don't lose the tiny sliver when it's almost used up. My point is you might not need to go to that trouble.
As for curl care, I'm still learning how to manage my shoulder length 2c hair after being raised to brush/blow out all the curl. Now I'm trying to encourage the spirals... still have a lot to learn, but this shampoo conditioner seem gentle/light enough to not get in the way, at least. Will definitely buy this brand again when the time comes (might be quite awhile though).
Why I Tried This Rice Water Shampoo Bar Set
I had never used bar shampoo or conditioner, but lower carbon footprint and less packaging waste made this rice water shampoo bar set appealing. The SAPHUS duo pairs a rice water shampoo bar with an argan conditioner bar. The formula uses fermented rice water rich in amino acids, vitamins, and minerals to help strengthen hair from root to tip. It also supports healthy growth by reducing early-stage hair fall from stress or buildup while promoting scalp balance. The argan conditioner bar softens hair, tames frizz, and adds shine without weighing it down. The bars are gentle, residue-free, plastic-free, and travel ready, which fits the solid shampoo and conditioner bar lifestyle.
What Reviews Say About the Rice Water Shampoo Bar
Many reviewers say the rice water shampoo bar and conditioner bar clean and moisturize the scalp, leave hair soft and silky, lather well, feel convenient, and last a long time. Scent gets mixed reactions: nice to some, intense to others. Some say the set does not dry out hair, while others report dryness and frizz, so results depend on hair type, conditioner amount, and rinsing. That balance matters for any rice water shampoo bar set: gentle cleansing should not leave residue, but fine or weak hair still needs enough conditioning.
First-Time Bar Shampoo and Conditioner Routine
The reviewer liked the low-waste idea but found the scent strong while unopened; after first use it became subtle. Solid shampoo and conditioner bars may need a different routine. The reviewer used to lather once, wait, rinse, then condition. Now the routine is to rub the rice water shampoo bar in wet hands, wash the scalp, rinse, then rub the bar once or twice more and lather again. The second lather feels like liquid shampoo and rinses cleanly. Conditioner works similarly: hair feels silky after rinsing, and the argan conditioner bar feels light. This explains why a second lather helps newcomers to a rice water shampoo bar and why thorough rinsing prevents heaviness.
Scalp Balance, Shine, and Plastic-Free Hair Care
The product benefits focus on strengthening, scalp balance, shine, and gentle cleansing. Fermented rice water is valued for amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, which is why a rice water shampoo bar suits many people with fine or weak hair. The argan conditioner bar adds softness and shine, while the solid format cuts packaging waste and travels well. Reviews mention effective cleaning, moisturized scalp, soft and silky hair, good lather, convenience, and long-lasting bars. Mixed scent and dryness comments remind users that plastic-free hair care must still match their scalp and hair needs; adjust conditioner amount and rinse time rather than assuming one routine fits everyone.
Storage Tips for Solid Shampoo and Conditioner Bars
The reviewer crocheted a wash bag for the conditioner bar and planned one for the shampoo bar, hanging them from shower curtain hooks to avoid a slimy soap dish. The shampoo bar stayed fine on a grooved soap holder. Another idea is old pantyhose: put a bar inside, knot it, trim, and hang it up; soap works through the fabric, the bar stays drier, and the last sliver is easier to use. These habits support plastic-free, travel-ready use and help solid shampoo and conditioner bars last longer. The reviewer also has shoulder-length 2c hair and is learning to encourage curls; this rice water shampoo bar and light argan conditioner bar felt gentle enough not to get in the way.
Who May Like This Rice Water Shampoo Bar Set
This rice water shampoo bar set may suit people with fine or weak hair who want strengthening, scalp balance, shine, and a lower-waste routine. The solid shampoo and conditioner bars lather well, last a long time, and leave hair soft and silky with a double-lather routine and thorough rinsing. Because scent and moisture results vary, sensitive users should note intense-scent comments and dryness reports. Overall, the rice water shampoo bar and argan conditioner bar duo is a practical plastic-free option for home or travel, especially for anyone switching to solid shampoo and conditioner bars.
