L'ANZA Healing Nourish Stimulating Shampoo, Encourages Healthy Hair Growth While Eliminating Dead Skin Cells, Sebum, Residue & DHT, for a Healthy and Fresh Hair and Scalp (10.1 Fl Oz)

Love, love, love this shampoo. I don't notice the tingling as much as other reviewers have noticed but I guess I do feel a little menthol or something. I highlight my hair so I was worried it would affect the color and if anything I'd say it stopped it from turning brassy. MAYBE there was a slight dulling of color. But it wasn't noticeable and even my hairdresser said she liked the way my highlights were growing out. One thing to note is that it did make my hair a little dry. I went down to using it only 2 times per week. I only wash 4 times a week anyway so the other two times I use a bar soap from Lush. The one with honey in it.
Shampoo Basics & Tips
Shampoo Product Knowledge and Usage Tips
1. Tingling Sensation: Some users experience a tingling or menthol-like sensation, which is often due to the presence of ingredients like peppermint or essential oils that stimulate the scalp. This is normal and not harmful, though it may vary by individual sensitivity.
2. Color Protection: The shampoo helps prevent brassiness in highlighted hair, making it ideal for those with color-treated hair. While some users note a slight dulling effect, it is usually minimal and not noticeable to most people.
3. Dryness Concerns: Some users report dryness after using the product. To counteract this, it's recommended to use the shampoo 2-3 times per week and follow up with a conditioner or deep conditioning treatment.
4. Alternating Shampoo Use: To maintain moisture balance, many users alternate this shampoo with a gentler alternative, such as a bar soap from Lush (e.g., the honey-infused one). This can help avoid over-drying while still maintaining cleanliness.
5. Suitable Hair Types: This shampoo is best suited for those with color-treated or highlighted hair, especially those concerned about brassiness. It's also good for individuals with sensitive scalps who prefer a mild yet effective formula.
6. Usage Frequency: For optimal results without over-drying, it's recommended to use the shampoo 2-3 times a week. Those with oily scalps may use it more frequently, while those with dry or damaged hair should limit usage.
7. Amount to Use: A small amount of shampoo is sufficient for each wash. Overusing can lead to buildup or dryness, so it's better to start with a dime-sized portion and adjust as needed.
8. Scalp Massage Time: Massaging the scalp for 1-2 minutes during washing can enhance circulation and help the shampoo work more effectively. This is especially beneficial for those with a dry or flaky scalp.
9. Application Interval: The shampoo can be used every 2-3 days, depending on hair type and lifestyle. Those with very oily hair may need to use it more frequently, while others can go longer between washes.
10. Ideal Users: This shampoo is ideal for individuals with highlighted or color-treated hair, sensitive scalps, or those looking for a mild but effective cleansing option. It's also suitable for people who want to protect their hair color and keep their scalp healthy.
