My experience: soft hair and okay scent after washing; however, hair turns oily in two days. Not for oily scalps.Product Detail

My Rosemary Mint Shampoo Review: Soft Hair, Oily Scalp

Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Hair Strengthening Biotin Shampoo - Moisturizing Hair Shampoo for Women and Men to Gently Cleanse, Repair & Protect Strands (12 oz)

My Rosemary Mint Shampoo Review: Soft Hair, Oily Scalp

Not sure if it’s working for me or not yet. it does make my hair soft the first day I use this and smells okay but after a day or 2 my hair gets really oily and it’s not good to control oil so if your oily I wouldent recommend it.

My Rosemary Mint Shampoo Review: Soft Hair, Oily Scalp

I bought the Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Shampoo hoping for stronger, softer hair. After using it, I noticed my hair felt very soft right away. However, my scalp became oily by the next day. In this rosemary mint shampoo review, I will explain why this happens and who should avoid this product.

The First Wash: Soft Hair and a Minty Scent

The first time I used the rosemary mint shampoo, the lather was gentle and non-stripping. It definitely left my hair softer than before. This is due to the moisturizing ingredients like coconut oil and babassu seed oil. They replenish dry strands and help the hair feel smooth. The scent is minty and fresh, which many users enjoy. For me, the smell was okay, not harsh and not too strong. It gave a refreshing feeling while washing.

Many positive reviews mention that this shampoo helps with damaged hair because it contains biotin. Biotin supports stronger hair over time. In my one-time use, I cannot confirm hair growth, but the immediate softness was noticeable.

Why Did I Experience an Oily Scalp?

Although the rosemary mint shampoo made my hair soft, it failed to control oil. After a day or two, my hair looked greasy and limp. This is a common problem for people with oily scalps when using a sulfate-free, oil-rich shampoo. The formula is designed to keep moisture, but for oily hair types, this extra moisture can become an oily scalp. Since the shampoo does not contain sulfates, it may not remove sebum as effectively as stronger cleansers. Additionally, the coconut oil and babassu oil can leave a residue on the hair, which can quickly make it look oily.

If your hair is naturally oily, I would not recommend this rosemary mint shampoo. In my experience, it is not a good oil-control shampoo. You might need a clarifying or lightweight shampoo instead.

Who Should Use This Rosemary Mint Shampoo?

The product description says it is ideal for all hair types, but more specifically for dry and damaged hair. The strengthening biotin formula targets weak, brittle strands. The coconut oil replenishes moisture. The gentle lather is good for textured hair. Therefore, people with dry or coarse hair may benefit from this shampoo. They may get the soft hair I experienced without the unwanted oil.

If you have combination hair, where the roots are oily but the ends are dry, you might still use this shampoo on the ends and a purifying shampoo on the scalp. But for me, using it all over caused oily scalp.

Final Verdict in My Rosemary Mint Shampoo Review

To summarize, this Mielle Organics rosemary mint shampoo provides soft hair and a pleasant mint scent right after washing. However, it can cause an oily scalp within a day or two, especially for those with oily skin or hair. I believe this product is best for dry, damaged, or curly hair, not for oily scalps. If you are considering this product, pay attention to your hair type. My honest recommendation is to skip it if you have an oily scalp, but you might love it if you need extra moisture and softness.
